High School Robotics Team for Buchanan and neighboring communities.
MegaHurtz Robotics through a partnership with Lake Michigan STEAMWORKS is an independently funded robotics team for students in Buchanan and surrounding communities. Our mentors and volunteers freely give their time and expertise to support and instruct our students.

SEASON EXPENSES HAVE GONE UP. AGAIN.

FIRST, the international organization we participate through has raised their prices for a second time in less than five years. The season registration fee for our team is now $6300. The cost of materials has also gone up, shipping costs are up over 30% and we are uncertain if the items we need will even be available this season.
In November 2025, MegaHurtz made the difficult decision to not compete in the 2026 "Rebuilt" season. The factors for this were primarily the recently increased $6300 registration fee charged by FIRST and the age and skill gap created by our last veteran team members graduating. With mostly a new team this season, the mentors felt we should be focuses on teaching and training the team without the distraction of timelines, budget constraints and competition. This has meant we can focus on the kids and not the robot. This has also freed up some resources to purchase some much needed equipment for next season! We look forward to being at competition, without the stress of actually competing. All of our wonderful supports will carryover to next season when our team will be better suited for the next challenge.
